This has been one of the most brutal Midwest winters I can remember. At least half of it was spent in the negative temps. I couldn’t take it anymore so it was time to get out for a while. I packed up my bike and flew out to California for a little BMX trip which started in a nice 75 degree Orange County, Ca and ended up in a 35 degree Truckee, Ca. So not entirely out of the cold but it was great to get to see a bunch of new places. We hit a some local parks as well as some famous ones such as Woodward West and Woodward Tahoe. It was also my first time ever snowboarding which was great besides the fact that I didn’t bring gloves, which pretty is critical as you’re learning how to turn! We spent New Years in the quaint little town of Truckee turning our Monster RV into a rolling party bus where the table ended up broken after I braked too hard sending everyone flying(it was my first time driving it!). We also saw a pretty brutal fight go down that night which resulted in one guys face covered in blood. Other then that Truckee/Lake Tahoe area is a great place to visit with tons of scenery which is where I ended up taking almost all of my photos on the trip. It was a much needed trip and I look forward to a couple more ventures out west this year!
