Boundary Waters Trip

Categories: //23 Jul 2012

This short gallery highlights my 5 days in the Boundary Waters up in North Minnesota. Me and 5 other guys set out on a 40 mile canoe (20 in/out) deep into the lakes of the Boundary Waters with a final destination of Cherry Lake. I was a little worried about bringing my 7D on the trip with me being that 90% I was surrounded by water. Purchasing a good dry sack was the best investment because the first 2 days of travel it poured rain. By the third when we got to Cherry Lake the sun came out an made everything worth it. We managed to come across one of the best camp sites I could imagine, which included a stunning view and a slightly dangerous rock dive. Some highlights were catching a Northern which a giant snapping turtle came by shortly after and ate, witnessing a tree fall randomly, standing on top of a giant cliff taking in the sky view of Cherry Lake, jumping 10ft over some rocks into the water, and epic camp fires at night. I would highly recommend going if you haven’t. I would strongly advise tons of bags/dry sacks to water proof your stuff, because it will get wet. We took lots of video too and are hoping to have a short highlight reel soon!
